Abstract

Orthodontic treatments can impact oral hygiene and gingival health, with fixed appliances potentially hindering plaque control. Therefore, it is of interest to compare the clear aligners and fixed appliances in for their effect on oral hygiene and gingival health. Hence, 100 patients were divided into two groups: clear aligners (Group I) and fixed appliances (Group II). Results showed Group II had significantly higher plaque and gingival issues over time. Thus, data shows that clear aligners offer better oral hygiene and gingival health maintenance compared to fixed appliances.
