Abstract |
High-risk pregnancies impose significant physical and emotional stress on the body and increase the likelihood of adverse perinatal outcomes. Therefore, it is of interest to determine the perinatal outcome of high-risk pregnancy so as to associate with high-risk conditions. Health problems that occur before a woman becomes pregnant or during pregnancy may also increase the likelihood for a high risk pregnancy. The mean birth weight score was 2.68±0.63 with majority 44(73.3%) of babies with birth weight more than 2.5 kg. 16(26.7%) of the babies with weight less than 2.5 kg. 24 (40%) patients had pre term delivery and 36 (60%) had term delivery. Thus, data shows that preterm deliveries are driven by high anemia and hypertension rates, necessitating pre-pregnancy screenings and routine antenatal checkups to improve perinatal outcomes. |
