Abstract |
Conventional maize production faces challenges such as low nutrient-use efficiency, reduce stress tolerance and concerns about environmental sustainability. Therefore, it is of interest to evaluate the metal-based nanoparticles which can improve maize productivity, grain quality and resilience to environmental stresses through enhanced nutrient uptake, photosynthetic efficiency and physiological performance. It provides a comprehensive understanding the roles of ZnO, Fe3O4, CuO, MnO, TiO2 and SiNPs in promoting maize growth and yield under diverse conditions. The review further contributes to knowledge by examining the mechanisms of nanoparticle uptake, transport and interaction within maize plants. Thus, data shows that development of bio-safe nanotechnology-based approaches is needed for sustainable maize production and future agricultural innovation. |
