Abstract

Delayed or unfavorable periodontal wound healing after flap surgery is a clinical problem that can affect post-operative comfort and long-term periodontal outcomes. Therefore, it is of interest to evaluate the effect of adjunctive i-PRF, diode laser and hyaluronic acid with open flap debridement in ten patients diagnosed with chronic periodontitis. Pain using VAS score and early wound healing score were assessed at 24 hours, 3 days and 7 days, while plaque index, gingival index, probing pocket depth and clinical attachment level were recorded at baseline, 1 month and 3 months. All treatment groups showed improvement in clinical parameters, with Group C receiving diode laser adjunctive therapy demonstrating better VAS, EHS, PPD and CAL outcomes than the other groups. Thus, data shows that adjunctive use of i-PRF, diode laser and hyaluronic acid with open flap debridement may improve periodontal healing, although larger studies with longer follow-up are required for validation.
