Abstract

Diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) is a common complication of Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) that causes pain, sensory loss and functional impairments. Therefore, it is of interest to evaluate the effectiveness of Buerger Allen Exercise (BAE) in alleviating peripheral neuropathy symptoms in T2DM patients. A pre- and post-test design with control and experimental groups was used, with the experimental group performing BAE for 15 days. Significant reductions in neuropathy symptoms were observed in the experimental group compared to the control group. Thus, data show the potential of Buerger Allen Exercise as a simple and cost effective intervention for improving peripheral circulation and functional outcomes in diabetic neuropathy.
