Abstract

Dental implant longevity depends on osseointegration, yet Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)'s inconsistent clinical efficacy stems from preparation variability and heterogeneous study designs despite promising growth factor-mediated osteogenesis. Therefore, it is of interest to examine the PRP effects on implant stability and peri-implant bone in 80 patients randomized to PRP versus control groups, with serial clinical and radiographic assessments. PRP delivers bioactive proteins including VEGF, PDGF and TGF-β essential for angiogenesis and bone regeneration around implant surfaces. Heterogeneity in PRP protocols contributes to mixed literature results on bone-to-implant contact enhancement and primary stability improvement. Thus, data shows the standardizing PRP application to clarify its definitive role in accelerating osseointegration for optimizing clinical implant protocols.
