Abstract |
Early diagnosis and prognostic assessment of dengue remain challenging in resource-limited settings because conventional serological tests are often costly, time-consuming and not readily available. High Fluorescence Lymphocyte Cell percentage (HFLC%) has emerged as a potential hematological marker for dengue diagnosis, while the utility of the Systemic Immune-Inflammation Index (SII) remains unclear. Hence, 118 serologically confirmed dengue cases and 50 healthy controls were evaluated using hematological parameters obtained from the Sysmex XN-1000 analyzer. Dengue patients showed higher HFLC% with good diagnostic accuracy of 82.2% sensitivity and 72.0% specificity. Thus, data shows that HFLC% is a rapid, cost-effective and reliable parameter for early dengue detection, whereas SII has limited diagnostic and prognostic value. |
