Abstract

Early identification of clinical and laboratory predictors is essential to reduce complications and mortality in dengue fever. Therefore, it is of interest to analyse the clinical, demographic, hematological and biochemical profiles of 321 laboratory-confirmed dengue patients. Fever was the most common presenting symptom, while thrombocytopenia, leukopenia and elevated liver enzymes were frequent laboratory findings. Severe bleeding, plasma leakage, underlying comorbidities and higher SOFA scores were associated with greater disease severity and prolonged hospital stay. Thus, early recognition of warning signs and prompt supportive management can improve clinical outcomes and reduce dengue-related complications.
