Abstract

Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) are emerging as a useful supplement to orthodontic education, but the awareness and preparedness of dental interns to use them remain uncertain. Hence, this multicentric cross-sectional questionnaire-based study included 304 dental interns from dental colleges in Central India and assessed awareness, digital readiness, attitude, willingness and perceived barriers toward MOOC-based orthodontic learning. The mean age of participants was 23.97 ± 1.15 years and 70.7% were female; 41.8% had heard of MOOCs, 36.5% had previously used online learning platforms, 71.1% reported reliable internet access and 76.4% had personal digital devices. A positive attitude was observed, with 72.4% stating that MOOCs improve conceptual understanding, 76% preferring blended learning, 69.7% supporting inclusion of MOOCs in undergraduate dental education and 72.4% agreeing that recorded modules should be used for revision.
