Abstract

The ideal timing of implant placement after tooth extraction remains debated due to differences in clinical and esthetic outcomes. Therefore, it is of interest to compare the immediate (n = 50) and delayed (n = 50) implant placement in 100 patients over 12 months. Delayed placement showed significantly greater implant stability, less marginal bone loss and better esthetic outcomes (all p < 0.01). Both protocols achieved high implant survival, while immediate placement promoted faster soft-tissue healing. Thus, data support evidence-based selection of implant timing according to clinical and esthetic treatment goals.
